1. Who we are
ARE iptv ("the app") is published by Arash Rahimi, an individual developer established in Germany. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Arash Rahimi is the data controller for the limited personal data described in this document. 2. What ARE iptv is — and is not
ARE iptv is a media player. It ships with no channels, no films, no series and no streams of any kind, and it is not a content service. It plays what you point it at: you supply your own playlist, provider account or portal, and you are responsible for having the right to access it. We have no relationship with, and no control over, the providers whose content you choose to play.
3. What stays on your device
Your playlist URLs, usernames, passwords, portal MAC addresses and API keys are stored only in this app's private storage on your device, with credentials held in encrypted form. Your channel catalogue, favourites, watch history, recordings and settings are likewise local. None of this is transmitted to us, and we have no server that could receive it.
4. What we do collect
Two optional diagnostic streams, both switchable off in Settings under About:
- Crash and freeze diagnostics, processed by Sentry. A report contains the technical circumstances of the failure — stack trace, app version, device model, operating system version — and never your playlist credentials or what you were watching.
- Anonymous usage events, processed by Google Firebase Analytics, recording which screens are opened and that a playback attempt occurred. This tells us which features are worth maintaining. It is not linked to your identity, and we do not build profiles or advertise to you.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
5. Who else receives data when you use the app
Using certain features causes your device to contact third parties directly. We do not route or see this traffic:
- Your playlist or portal provider, which necessarily receives your IP address and credentials in order to serve you the stream you asked for.
- OpenSubtitles, if you search for subtitles.
- OMDb, if you enable enriched film and series metadata.
- Google, if you submit feedback through the feedback form.
- Buy Me a Coffee, if you choose to open the support page.
Each of these is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one.
6. Why we are allowed to process it
Crash and usage diagnostics are processed on the basis of your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given on first run and withdrawable at any time in Settings without losing access to any feature. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
7. How long we keep it
Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. Aggregated usage statistics are retained for up to 14 months. Data held on your device stays there until you delete it, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app — uninstalling removes all of it permanently, including your playlists and history.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the data-protection supervisory authority in the country where you live. Because our diagnostic data is not tied to an account and carries no identifier we can look you up by, the most reliable way to exercise erasure is to switch diagnostics off, which stops all further collection immediately. 9. Children
ARE iptv is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. The app does not curate, rate or filter what your sources provide, so an adult should decide whether a given source is appropriate for a given viewer.
10. Your responsibilities
You agree to use ARE iptv only with content you are legally entitled to access in your country, and not to use it to infringe anyone's copyright or other rights. Whether a particular stream is lawful depends on the source and on where you are; that assessment is yours to make, and we cannot make it for you. You must not attempt to use the app to circumvent access controls or digital rights management.
11. Copyright and takedown requests
We host no content and operate no streaming infrastructure, so there is nothing on our side to take down. If you are a rights holder and believe the app itself is being presented in a way that infringes your rights, write to contact@arashrahimi.me identifying the work, the specific material at issue, and your authority to act for the rights holder. We will respond and, where a complaint is substantiated, act on it promptly.
12. No warranty, and limits on liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that any stream will play, that any provider will remain available, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for anything arising from content obtained through sources you supplied. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in the EU, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
13. Changes to this document
If we change this document materially, the app will show it to you again and ask you to accept the new version before you continue. This document may be translated for convenience; where a translation and the English text differ, the English text governs.
14. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Germany. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country in which you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.
